Inside A Glider’s Home

[Edit: When I wrote this post, I was still very knew to gliders. Since then, I have added much more enrichment to their cage and have changed their wheel from the Silent Runner to the Apollo wheel.]

Hey guys! I’ve been wanting to do this post for a while, but I never got around to taking the photos. (#majorprocrastinator XD) ANYWAY, today was a very productive day for me. I did a ton of cleaning, responded to a bunch of letters and emails and did a bunch of other stuff that was on my (to be put off) to do list. XD

So today I’ll be showing you what my sugar gliders own and what’s inside their cage. 🙂

This is their cage. I finally got enough toys that I can rotate them so that they don’t get bored. 😉 [Edit, I didn’t and I’m sad now that my gliders didn’t have as much enrichment as they could have] So this cage is 52 inches high, 21 wide and 31 long. *nods* So it gives them quite a bit of space to run around. They love the bars. It’s so fun to watch them and jump everywhere.

Now onto the toys! 😉

I got these little links from Amazon. They were pretty cheap and they’re so much fun to hook together and hang around the cage. They love chewing on them and climbing up “ropes” made by them.

(Sorry about the blurry picture). This is a little forager toy for them. It’s made of glider safe fleece. It has a cup at the bottom where you can put treats or stuff for them to find. 🙂

This is another foraging toy with tiny cups at the bottom. (I love the butterfly!)

This is my favorite! It’s made of eucalyptus branches and the colors are so pretty! 🙂

I like this one, too. Somewhere along the line, we lost the other hoop at the end. XD Not sure where it went. I looked all over. XD

My gliders love these balls so much. They’ve destroyed so many. XD

Their little sharp teeth marks! XD

More foraging toys. They love anything related to food. I’ll put treats in here and they love to break them open and get the treasure inside.

Marbles.

Random plastic toys. They absolutely love destroying that dino. XD

Safe fleece is GREAT to create toys from. 🙂 So there I have just random stuff.

Here’s a rope that I made out of fleece (with the little links at the bottom).

I also made this tunnel…thingy out of fleece.

This is a sandy branch that helps to keep their nails worn down. It works amazingly well.

[Edit: it is NOT a substitute for nail trimming!]

A sleeping pouch made from more fleece (I LOVE THAT COLOR!!!!)

I JUST got this running wheel a few days ago. (I’d wanted to get it before but glider safe wheels are really expensive sooo). I don’t love the color, but Ink and Dreamer have had a ton of fun running on it! It was much bigger than I had thought (and JUST BARELY fit through the cage doors!) but I’m pleased with it.

And finally, eucalyptus! They love to play around with this and it smells great! (Plus, it helps keep fleas away, which is definitely a plus!)

And that’s all for toady! Hope you enjoyed the tour of Ink & Dreamer’s cage! See you again next week!
