A Tale Of A Failed Holiday Photoshoot

I woke up on a Saturday morning with big plans. The sky was deep fall blue and without a cloud in sight. The perfect day to do a sugar glider photoshoot.

With the holidays approaching, I wanted to do a winter/Christmas themed shoot. I spent all morning making watercolor props, setting up the backdrop, getting frustrated over the lighting in my room and finally saying the magical words, “It’s ready”.

My backdrop….and yes, that is one of my blankets that I’m using. XD

The watercolor props.

I got my babies out of their cage (they were not pleased about being taken from their deep sleep and nice warm bed) and gave them their yogurt drops so that they would be occupied and would allow me to take their pictures.

*wipes tear from corner of eye*

Alas. I got some really cute pictures of them, but my holiday theme did not play out like I wanted it to. You can barely see the watercolor stuff in the background.

After about three minutes, the gliders were DONE. I couldn’t even bribe them with yogurt drops. They wanted to go back to sleep and that was final! I put them back, cleaned up the room and then sat down to look at the pitiful pictures.

Cute. But not much of a Christmas/winter theme.

At least I tried.

I’ll include the pictures for you, my friends, and you can share in my sorrows over the dashing of my holiday dreams. XD XD *coughs* I’m done being dramatic. 🤣

Bravely venturing out to grab a yoggie.

“I’ll stay in here where it’s safe…”

Out at last! So holiday-ish, right? 🙄😑

There you can see the pitiful decor in the background….

They’re so adorable! I’m in love….

There’s my little Dreamer. Ink is much more photogenic than she is.

Inky on me hand. 😍

MY FAVORITE PICTURE. He’s sooo adorable!

And that was that. XD

What was your favorite picture? Have you ever had an epic fail of a wonderful idea? What are you doing for the holidays?
