Hey guys, sorry the content on An Inky Dream hasn’t been the most in-depth lately. I’ve just been insanely busy with school, other blogs, life and Dreamer’s been sick. 😕 But I have some great ideas for upcoming posts, so be on the lookout for those.
There are some things that a glider owner should have on hand all of the time. I’ll be sharing seven of those. 🙂
Pureed Pumpkin

Pureed pumpkin (canned, NO SEASONINGS) is helpful if your gliders are constipated. If they are, it is super helpful to be able to just run to the cabinet and grab some instead of having to go to the store.
Cranberry Juice

UTI’s are fairly common among sugar gliders. If you suspect your glider has one, they should be taken to a vet immediately. However, cranberry juice is helpful in flushing out the infection. Some people occasionally just give the juice to them to help ward off any infections. You should get cranberry juice without any additives.
Grapes

If your gliders anal glands are impacted, grapes can help. It’s helpful to have them on hand, just in case that happens.
Honey

Honey has so many good properties in it. You should get raw honey WITHOUT honey comb (that is toxic to gliders). Raw honey is a good source of antioxidants. It helps heal wounds, it has antibacterial and antifungal properties, it helps digestive problems, etc. It is amazing. Sugar gliders love it. If I want to get some extra fluids into my babies, I will feed them honey water (’cause they’ll drink that when they won’t drink plain water).
Mixed Frozen Veggies, Mixed Frozen Fruits, Eggs

If you’re in a pinch for a quick meal for your gliders (say, you run out of your staple diet and have to wait a few days for the supplies to arrive), it’s very helpful to have these ingredients on hand. Mixed veggies, frozen fruits (esp. a tropical mix with papaya, mango, pineapple, etc) and eggs (or turkey or chicken without seasonings) are all elements of a good diet.
